Writer Vladimir Voinovich died at 85, as was reported on Saturday. He was a prose writer, playwright and poet. His most famous works include "A Degree of Trust" (1972), "The Life and Extraordinary Adventures of Private Ivan Chonkin" (1969-1975), "Pretender to the Throne: The Further Adventures of Private Ivan Chonkin" (1979), "A Displaced Person" (2007), the dystopia "Moscow 2042", the play "Medium Fluffy Domestic Cat" (1990), the novel "Monumental Propaganda" (2000), "A Portrait Against the Background of a Myth" (2002) and "Self-portrait: Novel of My Life" (2010).
