85th anniverary of the Christ the Savior Cathedral blowing-up in Moscow
As long-lastin attempts to dismantle the Christ the Savior Cathedral fell flat, it was decided to blow it up. On December 5, 1931, two explosions were carried out - the cathedral was not destroyed after the first one. It took almost half a year to remove the wreckage of the cathedral remaining after the explosion.
