Irina Rozanova was born on July 22, 1961 in Ryazan into a family of actors. At the age of six she performed in the theater for the first time. After finishing school, she took the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) entrance exams in Moscow. Unfortunately, she failed and had to return to Ryazan. She worked in the theater as a costuming, and was an extra in crowd scenes. Her second attempt to enter GITIS was successful. She was accepted into Oskar Remez’s course. Rozanova graduated from GITIS in 1984. In 1984-1988 she played at the Mayakovsky Theatre. In 1988-1991 she worked at the Chelovek Moscow Drama Theatre, in 1991-1998 at the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya, and in 1998-1999 at the Lenkom Theatre. Rozanova has starred in private performances and in films. She was awarded the title Merited Artist of Russia (1995) and People’s Artist of Russia (2008). The actress is married to director Bakhtiyer Khudoinazarov whom she met at the filming of “Tanker 'Tango.'”
