FSB terminates arms trafficking channel from EU

The arms found during an operation conducted by the Russian Federal Security Service jointly with the Russian Interior Ministry and the Russian National Guard. The operation terminated the activities of a criminal group consisting of residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl who participated in organizing an arms trafficking channel from the EU to the Russian Federation. The authorities confiscated 380 foreign and domestic made firearms (25 machine guns, 30 assault rifles, 70 submachine guns, 94 carbines and rifles, 158 pistols and revolvers, and 2 antitank rifles) as well as a 45-mm infantry mortar, AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher, improvised explosive device, 15 hand fragmentation grenades, and more than 4,500 bullets of various calibers.
