Art Cachalot Recycled Trash Exhibition

Krasnoyarsk. A woman admires a public art installation by Tatiana Vysokova called Push and Run. The installation consists of old newspapers, magazines and used office paper and is part of a trash art exhibition called Trash: Rebirth. The exhibition opened at the local Cultural Initiatives Center following the Art Cachalot creative contest and features 30 masterpieces by artists and 20 works by Krasnoyarsk Territory residents. All exhibits were made using obsolete items and components, as well as recycled mechanical trash, that eventually turned into art objects.

Sevkabel Port cultural space in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg. Young women visit the Sevkabel Port Cultural Center in the Gavan (Harbor) District on Vasilyevsky Island. The Sevkabel Port cultural cluster is located on the territory of the Sevkabel Cable Plant that was founded in 1879. The plant ranks among the city’s oldest enterprises. following a production modernization project and a corporate reorganization, it was decided to relocate industrial workshops beyond city limits. Some workshops were merged under a renovation project, and 20 percent of their space were converted into cultural public space. The buildings are subdivided into various functional zones where it is possible to conceive projects, to while away the time and to engage in creative work and sports.
