Great Patriotic War veteran Antonina Korobova

An archive reference note on Great Patriotic War veteran Antonina Korobova, nee Korolyova (born 1922) from the Central Archive of the Soviet Defense Ministry. On August 1941, Antonina Korobova was drafted into the Red Army and deployed to the South Caucasus Front. She served as an enlisted medical instructor with the 263rd Medical Sanitary Battalion of the 243rd Rifle Division. On September 11, 1941, enemy aircraft bombed the positions of a cavalry squadron near Vyazma in the Smolensk Region. During the air raid, a bomb fragment injured Korobova's left arm. After being discharged from the army, she worked as an assistant manager in charge of the premises at a kindergarten in the Tver Region. Her last position was that of a draftswoman at the Applied Art Integrated Works in Moscow. She retired in 1974.
