A man shows his injured hands while being among opposition supporters outside the parliament during protests against a Russia-related investment deal in Sukhum, Abkhazia. On October 30, Russia and Abkhazia signed an agreement on Russian investment activities in the republic, due to be considered for ratification by the Abkhaz parliament on November 15. But the parliament's session was cancelled. A bill regulating the construction of multipurpose compounds was passed by the parliament on November 11. On November 15, a coordination council formed to resolve the political crisis called for the resignation of President Aslan Bzhania. The president refused to step down and left for his home village of Tamishi. On November 16, the opposition called on its supporters to reconvene.
