Last Sunday Russia advanced to DST. According to doctors, the transition to summer time is unlikely to cause health problems in people. However, more people will be late to work Monday. VTsIOM public opinion agency polls say time adjustments in spring and fall make every fifth Russian come late. The nastiest trick is for travelers: if you forget to adjust your watch in fall, you might arrive at the airport or railway station an hour earlier while in spring you can miss your flight. The inconvenience of advancing clocks affect not only humans but also animals according to the statement from a Finish TV company that had conducted its own research. The journalists found out that shifting clocks causes a grave problem for dairy farmers. Since milking starts earlier, cows which are used to a different schedule yield less milk and bellow disgruntlingly. Farmers also have losses in winter: when milking begins an hour later, milk overflows the udders and starts leaking.
