The Resurrection Cathedral, most commonly known as the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood in Leningrad, during renovation. The church was built as a memorial for Emperor Alexander II on the site of his assassination on March 1 (13), 1881. The church was built between 1883 and 1907 on the donations collected from all over Russia, based on a project by architect Alfred Parland and Archimandrite Ignaty (Malyshev).
