The Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). The Kosogorsk Metal Plant, the largest cast iron plant in the country. Due to German occupation, the main equipment was evacuated to the Perm Region. Restoration of the facility began after the liberation of the Tula Region from Nazi invaders. In 1942, the first blast furnace was launched.
