The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ), Moscow. Designed by architect Konstantin Thon. The construction went on for 44 years. The cathedral was laid on September 23, 1839, and consecrated on May 26, 1883. The building was demolished on December 5, 1931, and rebuilt on the same spot in 1994-1997.
