Exhibits are displayed during the exhibition "Names of Russian Diplomacy: Yemelyan Ukraintsev" at the State Historical Museum in Moscow, Russia. Ukraintsev was a prominent figure during the reign of Peter the Great and served in the Foreign Affairs Chancery for about 40 years. His tenure as head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Constantinople in 1699-1700 led to the conclusion of a 30-year peace treaty between Russia and the Ottoman Empire, under which Russia retained Azov. He was also a member of the Boyar Duma, headed the Malorossiya Chancery and was one of the initiators of negotiations that resulted in the reunification of the Metropolitanate of Kiev with the Russian Orthodox Church.
