

Amateur gardener Maria Priimak waters giant onions grown from seeds of British world record holder Peter Glazebrook at her summer cottage in the Maly Talnakh gardening cooperative in Krasnoyarsk region, Russia. Alongside growing conventional vegetables, Priimak has recently been experimenting with giant varieties of tomatoes, onions, watermelons, beetroot and pumpkins. A 426-kg pumpkin she grew won a prize at a nationwide giant vegetable competition in Moscow in 2025.
