

A giant beet grows at the summer cottage of amateur gardener Maria Priimak in the Maly Talnakh gardening cooperative in the Maly Talnakh gardening cooperative in Krasnoyarsk region, Russia. Alongside growing conventional vegetables, Priimak has recently been experimenting with giant varieties of tomatoes, onions, watermelons, beetroot and pumpkins. A 426-kg pumpkin she grew won a prize at a nationwide giant vegetable competition in Moscow in 2025.
