Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, head of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, attends a hearing at the Court of Appeal in Yerevan, Armenia. The court released Ajapakhyan from house arrest and overturned the verdict of the Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan. On October 3, 2025 a Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction sentenced Ajapahyan to two years in prison for calling for the seizure of power and the violent overthrow of the constitutional order.
