Prosecutor Kristina Gladkova looks on after a hearing in the case of head of the Moldovan autonomous region of Gagauzia, Yevgenia Gutsul and Moldovan opposition Pobeda (Victory) bloc activist Svetlana Popan at the Chisinau Court of Appeal in Chisinau, Moldova. The court on May 28 upheld a lower court ruling sentencing Gutsul and Popan to seven and six years in prison respectively for involvement in the illegal financing of the banned Shor Party.
