

World War II veteran Nikolai Loginov, 96, receives congratulations ahead of Victory Day, marking the 81st anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two, in Naro-Fominsk, Moscow region, Russia. Nikolai Yegorovich went to the front in 1942 at the age of 12. He served in the 405th Separate Airfield Service Battalion, which supported the combat operations of fighter and ground-attack aircraft. As part of the 3rd Ukrainian Front, he took part in the liberation of the Smolensk region, Belarus and Ukraine. He met Victory Day in 1945 in Yugoslavia.
