

World War II veteran Pavel Morozov, 100, receives congratulations with the upcoming Victory Day, marking the 81st anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two, in Novosibirsk, Russia. In 1943, at the age of 18, Pavel Ivanovich was conscripted into the army. He fought in an infantry regiment of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, served in the airborne forces, and took part in battles near Lake Balaton, ending the war in Austria. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class, as well as the For Courage and For the Victory over Germany medals.
