Nikita Tikhonov and Evgenia Khasis during the announcement of sentence at Moscow Municipal Court. Nikita Tikhonov was found guilty of murdering attorney Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Yevgenia Khasis, his common law wife, was found guilty in complicity and thus sentenced to 18 years in prison.
