Flowers and wreaths are placed on the grave of Soviet and Russian football striker and coach Nikita Simonyan, who died at the age of 99 on November 24, during his funeral at the Vagankovskoye Cemetery in Moscow, Russia. A four-time Soviet Union champion, Simonyan played for Spartak Moscow, winning the USSR Cup twice and becoming the club's all-time top scorer with 160 goals. In 1956, he earned an Olympic gold medal as part of the Soviet national team at the Melbourne Games.
