In the early hours of August 9, 1945, ten assault teams from the Grodekovo Border Control Unit destroyed nine enemy facilities. They blew up nine Japanese garrisons, destroyed 20 earth-and-wood emplacements, 16 concrete pillboxes, six observation posts, one command post, killed, wounded and captured 253 Japanese officers and soldiers.
