

Children lay flowers at the memorial complex to the Sailors Who Died in Peacetime during a memorial rally dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the Kursk submarine tragedy, in Murmansk, Russia. The K-141 Kursk nuclear submarine sank on August 12, 2000 during the Russian Northern Fleet drills in the Barents Sea, leaving 118 people killed. The submarine was lost after an explosion in a torpedo room, which caused heavy fire and a further blast of the ammunition.
