

A man lays flowers at the Monument to the Submariners Who Died in the Ocean during a memorial ceremony dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the Kursk submarine tragedy, in the Vidyayevo garrison, Murmansk Region, Russia. The K-141 Kursk nuclear submarine sank on August 12, 2000 during the Russian Northern Fleet drills in the Barents Sea, leaving 118 people killed. The submarine was lost after an explosion in a torpedo room, which caused heavy fire and a further blast of the ammunition.
