The legendary 1st rank cruiser Aurora is leaving its permanent mooring place at the Petrogradskaya Embankment in Leningrad, opposite the Nakhimov Naval School, to go to the Zhdanov Shipyard (now the Severnaya Verf Shipyard) for major repairs and reconstruction. Thousands of Petersburgers are seeing the ship off.
