

Passengers check-in for their Nordwind Airlines' flight to North Korea's Pyongyang launching the direct air connection between the two capitals since the mid-1990s, at the Sheremetyevo International Airport outside Moscow, Russia. Russia's Transport Ministry said there will be one flight a month to meet demand. Until now, the only direct air route between Russia and North Korea was Air Koryo's service from Pyongyang to Russia’s eastern port city of Vladivostok reopened in 2023 following a break caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
