

Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov and Russian Ambassador to North Korea Alexander Matsegora attend a ceremony to welcome the inaugural flight from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, operated by Nordwind Airlines, marking the first regular air link between the two capitals since the mid-1990s, at the Pyongyang International Airport in Pyongyang, North Korea. Russia's Transport Ministry said there will be one flight a month to meet demand. Until now, the only direct air route between the two countries was Air Koryo's service from Pyongyang to Russia’s eastern port city of Vladivostok reopened in 2023 following a break caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
