Gold Medal of the Soviet Peace Fund. It was awarded for active participation in the activities of the Soviet Peace Fund and replenishment of it with voluntary contributions in the interests of strengthening universal peace, freedom and security of peoples. The Soviet Peace Fund was created in 1961. The fund provided financial support to organizations and individuals fighting for strengthening peace. (In 1992, it was transformed into the Russian Peace Fund).
