Students who have been blocking universities in Serbia for seven months called on citizens via social media to join a mass protest in Belgrade at 6 p.m. local time in the city center. At 9 p.m., the deadline expired for an ultimatum they issued to authorities on June 25, demanding early parliamentary elections to be called and the pro-presidential tent camp to be removed from the square in front of the National Assembly. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that violence could be expected from protesters in Belgrade on the evening of June 28.
