

In this handout video grab released by the Russian Defence Ministry, Kursk region civilians released from Ukrainian captivity sit on a bus, amid Russia's military operation in Ukraine, at an unknown location in Belarus. On May 23, in accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on May 16 in Istanbul, 270 Russian servicemen and 120 civilians, including those captured by the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region, were returned. In return, 270 POWs of the Ukrainian armed forces and 120 civilians were transferred back. A large-scale, multi-phase prisoner swap initiated by Russia is planned to continue over the next three days, until May 25.
