

The Lenin nuclear icebreaker is the world's first surface vessel with a nuclear power unit. The icebreaker was built in the Soviet Union to ensure continuous navigation the Northern Sea Route and was transferred to the USSR Ministry of the Marine Fleet on December 3, 1959. In 1989, it was decommissioned and placed on permanent mooring next to the Murmansk sea terminal as a museum ship.
