The All-Union Flax Research and Development Institute in Torzhok in the Kalinin, now Tver, Region. The research center organizes and conducts flax selection projects, and it also develops technologies for long-stalked flax cultivation and primary processing. The institute has its own farming machinery fleet for flax-growing purposes.
