Opposition supporters are seen outside the parliament building in Sukhum, Abkhazia. The confrontation between the authorities and the opposition in Abkhazia began because of an agreement with Russia on investments, which provides for the construction of apartments in Abkhazia. On November 15, the parliament was supposed to ratify the document, but it was postponed due to protests. Opposition supporters seized a complex of government buildings in Sukhum, including the presidential administration, and demanded the resignation of the head of state. President Aslan Bzhania agreed to resign if the opposition leaves the seized buildings; the protesters rejected the authorities' offer.
