Opposition supporters cut down a previously breached fence during protests outside the parliament building in Sukhum, Abkhazia. On October 30, Russia and Abkhazia signed an agreement on Russian investment activities in the republic, due to be considered for ratification by the Abkhaz parliament on November 15. However, the parliament session did not take place due to opposition protests, with opposition supporters breaking through the fence around the government complex and occupying parliament and the presidential administration. Later that day, a coordination council formed to resolve the political crisis called for the resignation of President Aslan Bzhania. The president agreed to resign if the opposition leaves the seized buildings, the protesters rejected the authorities' offer.
