The Soyuz T-11 international crew visited India after successfully completing their mission. Indian President Zail Singh during the presentation of the highest state award, the Ashoka Chakra, to the flight engineer of the Soyuz T-11 spacecraft, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major Gennady Strekalov.
