Ceremonial laying of the "golden link" at the junction dedicated to Soviet hero Viktor Miroshnichenko that interlocked the tracks of the Central and Eastern sections of the Baikal-Amur Mainline on April 17, 1984. Construction of the Eastern section of BAM was completed ahead of time. Traffic opened on April 28 for trains between Tynda and Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
