Orthodox priests attend the burial of ashes of twice Soviet figure skating champions at the Olympic Games Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov at the Volkovskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg, Russia. Belousova and Protopopov revolutionized pairs figure skating in the 1960s with a balletic style before defecting to the West in 1979. Belousova died in 2017, and her husband in 2023 in Interlaken, Switzerland.
