Italian flutist Monica Moroni from San Marino, right, performs at the Children of Beslan Statue, also known as "The Scream", opened during a memorial event marking the 20th anniversary of the deadly school siege in the courtyard of the former School No. 1 in the town of Beslan, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Russia. On September 1, 2004, more than 30 armed terrorists took hundreds of hostages at School No. 1 in Beslan during celebrations marking the start of the school year. As a result of the three-day siege, 334 people were killed, including 186 children.
