

Center: Boris Petrov, Chairman of the Intercosmos Council for International Cooperation in the Field of Exploration and Use of Outer Space, Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Hero of Socialist Labor, and Dr. B. Valenchik (Czechoslovakia) examine the instruments of the Iterosmos-1 satellite, produced by the GDR and Czechoslovakia, during a meeting of scientists from socialist countries. The first Intercosmos-1 satellite, launched in 1969, was equipped with equipment for studying the polarization of solar flare radiation.
