In this handout video grab released by the Winged Memory of Victory foundation a Polikarpov I-16 fighter aircraft, which was restored by enthusiasts of the Winged Memory of Victory project ahead of the Victory Day marking the 79th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two, flies in the sky over Novosibirsk, Russia. Fragments of the Soviet WWII fighter were found in Karelia in 1992 and transported to Novosibirsk. The production and restoration of the aircraft structural elements were carried out by the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant and Aviarestavratsiya company. The final assembly, ground and flight tests of the I-16 took place at the Siberian Aviation Research Institute named after Chaplygin. Editorial use only, no archive, no commercial use.
