

The world's first Soviet polar research drifting station, North Pole (SP-1), headed by Ivan Papanin. The expedition worked on it for 274 days. Since the end of January 1938, the ice floe has been continuously shrinking and rescuers have gone to help the expedition. At night, the icebreaker Yermak arrived for the expedition members rescued by the icebreaker Taimyr. Polar explorers reload station equipment onto the Yermak icebreaker.
