Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad, Russia. Turret No. 17 of a T-34-76 medium tank in a public garden on Marshal Chuikov Street. The plaque on the turret reads: "The forward edge of the battle area of General Alexander Rodimtsev's 13th Guards Division was located here. This tank turret minus commander's hatch was probably manufactured in 1942 and has several perforated holes in its right side. Seventeen similar tank turrets installed in the city mark the forward edge of the battle area on November 19, 1942 during the Battle of Stalingrad.
