The building of the Russian Central Bank's Oryol subsidiary is among the most beautiful, oldest, most colorful and unusual local buildings. Commissioned by Emperor Alexander II in the 19th century, it was completed to a design by architect S. Rodionov from Moscow and under his supervision. Architectural elements, typical of ancient Russian architecture, including hipped-roof towers, gables and weather vanes, make it particularly attractive. The building is a cultural landmark.
