The VII International Congress of the Doctors of the World for the Prevention of Nuclear War movement, held from May 29 to June 1, 1987 in Moscow. The mayor of Hiroshima in Japan, founder and head of the Mayors for Peace organization, created in 1982 in response to the death of more than a hundred thousand people as a result of the atomic bombing of the city by American aircraft on August 6, 1945, Takeshi Araki during a speech at the closing of the forum.
