

President of the the self-proclaimed Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria, PMR) Vadim Krasnoselsky attends a wreath laying ceremony during events dedicated to the memory of the soldiers of the 55th Podolsk Infantry Regiment of the Russian Imperial Army at the Military Historical Memorial Complex in the city of Bender in Tiraspol, Transnistrian region, Moldova. Podolsk Regiment, which was stationed in Bender until the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, is a part of the regional history. Its regimental holiday has been celebrated on August 29 when the patron saint image of the Savior Not Made by Hands is honoured. The regiment for more than a hundred years of existence has gone through many wars and military campaigns. Many units of the Russian army were equipped with its parts at various times.
