World War Two veteran Grigory Skripov receives congratulations on his 97th birthday and with the upcoming Victory Day in the settlement of Solnechny, Chelyabinsk Region, Russia. During the war Skripov served as a crew member of a SU-152 self-propelled heavy howitzer on the 3rd Belorussian Front. He took part in the battle for Konigsberg, fought against Japanese militarists in the Far East, Manchuria and Korea and awarded with an Order of the Red Banner, an Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class, and also with medals "For Battle Merit", "For the Capture of Konigsberg", "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" and "For the Victory over Japan".
