Turkmen SSR. Scientific-sports expedition Human and Desert is a hike in the Karakum desert in July-August 1984. The expedition was organized by the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the USSR Ministry of Health. Nikolai Kondratenko is the leader and doctor of the expedition, a sports physician by education and a traveler by vocation.
