Former Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev talks to the media after he was released from prison for medical treatment abroad, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Supreme Court on February 13 sent Atambayev's case for a new trial at the request of his lawyers in connection with newly discovered information. Atambayev was convicted of corruption and sentenced to over 11 years in prison in 2020.
