

Monument to the Holy Prince Dmitry Donskoi in Kolomna, erected to commemorate the Russian victory over the Mongol-Tatars hordes in the 1380 Battle of Kulikovo. The monument, created by sculptor Alexander Rukavishnikov and architect Sergei Sharov, was unveiled in a grand ceremony on May 22, 2007 outside the Kolomna fortress wall. Background: the Marinka Tower, one of the seven towers of the Kolomna fortress that have survived to this day, built in 1525-1531.
