The city of Vilkovo in the Izmail district of the Odessa Region (on the border with Romania). Most of the local population are Lipovans (Old Believers of the priestly direction and an ethnographic group of Russians who moved here in the late 17th - early 18th centuries after Nikon's church reforms). People in Vilkovo move mostly on the water. Ukrainian SSR.
