The Zvartnots Church (Wakeful Forces, or Celestial Angels) near Echmiadzin in the Armenian SSR is an outstanding masterpiece of early medieval Armenian architecture (built in 641-661). The ruins were brought to light by diggings in 1901-1907. Preserved artifacts include foundation stones, architectural fragments, stems, bases and caps of columns.
